Pixels are worked out at 300 DPI, the standard for print.
Run the background 3 mm past every edge so no white shows after cutting. An A4 file becomes 216 × 303 mm.
Keep text and logos at least 5 mm inside the trim edge so nothing gets cut off.
Use 300 DPI for cards, flyers and books. 72 to 150 DPI is enough for screens and for big prints seen from afar.
Set the file to CMYK. Screen colours (RGB) can print duller, especially bright greens and blues.
Vista United prints business cards, brochures, roll-ups and books for companies across Saudi Arabia, at the right size the first time.
A4 is 21 × 29.7 cm (210 × 297 mm), or 8.27 × 11.69 inches. It is the standard size for printer paper, letters and invoices in Saudi Arabia and most of the world.
It depends on the resolution: 2480 × 3508 px at 300 DPI for print, 1240 × 1754 px at 150 DPI, and 595 × 842 px at 72 DPI for screens.
A3 is 29.7 × 42 cm, twice the size of A4. A5 is 14.8 × 21 cm, half of A4. Each A size is half of the one before it.
In Saudi print shops the most common size is 9 × 5 cm. The European size is 8.5 × 5.5 cm. Add 3 mm bleed on each side when you prepare the file, so a 9 × 5 cm card file is 9.6 × 5.6 cm.
The most common roll-up is 85 × 200 cm. Wider stands take 100 × 200 cm and 120 × 200 cm. Keep text and logos about 10 cm above the bottom edge, which sits close to the stand base.
Bleed is an extra 3 mm on each side where the background and images run past the trim line, so no white edges show after cutting. An A4 file with bleed is 216 × 303 mm. Keep important text at least 5 mm inside the trim edge.
